Zoie’s family has been in Las Vegas since 1959 and has deep roots in the community. She studied pastry arts and then English Literature at CSN and UNLV and went on to receive a Master’s in Linguistics from Trinity College, Dublin in Ireland. Starting at age 9 and into adulthood, Zoie participated in choir, handbells, and musical theater, but her dearest musical memories come from singing in the car and having music competitions with her Papa as early as three years old. Looking to create early and fulfilling musical memories with her son Azure, she started attending Music Together in May of 2023 and fell in love with the program. She has since been inspired to participate in the Music Together Teacher Training and is ready to develop a fun musical practice with families in the Las Vegas Valley.

photo Jennifer Williamson

Jennifer has a lifelong relationship with music. She studied cello and piano in her early youth, majoring in orchestra at Las Vegas Academy of Arts. She majored in dance during her college years at UNLV learning many different styles of dance including ballroom, ballet, jazz, tap, modern, Irish dance, and more. She joined the UNLV ballroom formation team, opening up her world to competitive ballroom dance.

Jennifer met her husband David while working in a 1950’s Diner as a singing waitress. After she began her family-growing adventure, she taught musical theater to 5-18 year old kids in a non-profit group called Talent Team. Next, Jennifer taught baby ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, and musical theater at Bunker Dance Center for several years. She shifted her ballroom dance instruction to adults at Arthur Murray Dance Studios for another 5 years. But she missed working with kids, so she has found opportunities to teach ballroom to kids K-12 in a couple different schools throughout the valley.

Over the last 20 years, Jen has found deep joy making music in all facets of her church service. She has participated, directed, and accompanied choirs in numerous church services and musical events. She has steadily taught gospel music to the children and youth of her church. Jennifer delights in serving the community musically as well. She organized an a capella caroling group that spreads Christmas cheer in retirement centers, as well as Downtown Summerlin. She has entertained for non-profit events for Friends of Parkinsons, and various private events around Las Vegas. Jennifer currently teaches elementary music for SNHPA (Southern Nevada Homeschool Performing Arts) and Dahl Studios, instructing in private lessons as well as teaching their Music Together Mixed Age and Rhythm Kids® classes. She is excited to join City Lights Music Together as she continues growing our musical community, building up family bonds in a musically rich environment, and spreading the joy of the arts to the world!
